And you won't either.
I've got a straight-forward attitude you can only find in the Northeast. My six-year experience with the circus has taken me from coast to coast, stopping at every state in between. I've lived at least a week at a time in 46 states.
This is what makes me a great journalist.
I'm used to different platforms, different situations. I was in a different city every week, a different state every month, and I loved it. Education? For four of those six years, I was the teacher. I created the classroom.
I've got the drive and the skills to teach myself. I can become an instant expert on any topic.
I've settled down in Tampa for college, but I'm eager and willing to move anywhere. Most likely, I'll be a bit familiar with your town. I've probably already been there.
Amy Mariani was born Jan. 5, 1989 in Bronx, NY. Her parents divorced when she was a baby and she moved to Red Hook, NY when she was three with her mother and her mothers fiancée. They married when she was 4 years old and at 5, Amy had a baby sister named Caitlin.
At 7 years old, Amy's family ran away and joined the circus. For the next six years, Amy traveled with her family across the country and Canada. Her mother and stepfather worked as clowns. During her time on the road, she starred in an elephant act and toured with Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey.
In 2002, her parents took off their clown shoes and settled in Orlando. Amy graduated from Celebration High School with Advanced Placement credits and a 3.92 cumulative GPA. While in high school, Amy placed in dozens of tournaments with the CHS Speech and Debate team, advanced to State competition two years in a row with the local chapter of the International Thespian Society and held various leadership positions in the CHS Theatre Department.
Amy now lives in Tampa where she attends the University of South Florida. She is studying broadcast journalism. She held different editor positions at The Oracle throughout 2007 and 2008 and was an Editorial Assistant for the St. Petersburg times during 2009. She interned with the Orlando Sentinel in spring 2009 and with 10 Connects News in spring 2010. She is now a multimedia intern with USF Health and a traffic reporter for Clear Channel Radio.
